Car Insurance

When I started driving, my parents immediately added me to their car insurance. When I moved out of state, I got different insurance on my own. Then after getting married & the budget was extra tight, we changed to another insurance that was cheaper, but ended up having better coverage. We haven't needed to use it, but I'm sure there are some out there searching for some insurance & I bet carinsurancelist blog has some good companies to choose from.

Cell Phones

Remember when we used to say cellular phones? They were huge! I think when they first came out they were in big carrying cases. Now they are so tiny, you can barely see them. I guess they are so small now that they have to be called a smaller word...Cell. Along with things getting smaller, so does the way we say stuff. Actually now words are either abbreviations or an acronyms.

If I could Redecorate...

I have such eclectic taste. Right now my house is furnished with yard sale, hand me down, thrift store & road side finds. But if I had the money to just buy whatever I wanted to decorate my home, I really have no idea in what direction I would go. I adore the cottage/shabby chic look. All white, big over stuffed couches with pops of color & florals. I also love anything 1950's & with that most of it is more modern furniture. Clean straight lines. I also like curvy whimsical furniture. Goodness, I think I would have trouble deciding what to do!

Books

I seem to be back into my reading mood. I got "Gone with the Wind" for Christmas & read it for the first time. Once I finished it, I read "Scarlett." Then one of my favorite authors Francine Rivers came out with a new book "Her Mother's Hope." I just started it today & am already captivated & I am just in the 2nd chapter. I love books like that, where you are immediately in the middle of the story & you are not having to fight to read it, to get to a point that holds your attention.

Herbal Stuff

I took some herbal diet pills for awhile & along with them there was an herbal tea that was used to detox your system. One night I was steeping some of that tea & forgot about it. It was only supposed to steep for a few minutes, well....mine steeping for over an hour! I didn't want to waste it since it was kind of expensive, so I drank it anyway. Let's just say it detoxified my system & then some!

Best of...

It's been so long since I read a fashion magazine, I don't know what the best wrinkle creams are now. I used to could the best of every beauty treatment, best lipstick, foundation & so on.... I am definitely out of the loop these days. I used to have a subscription to the leading beauty magazine, but since I didn't renew it, I'm  lost. Haha!

Weight Loss Stories

Do you find weight loss success stories encouraging or do they make you feel worse about your own weight? I'm not sure how I feel about them. Sometimes it gives me a push in the right direction. Motivates me. Makes me want to exercise. Eat healthy. All knowing that it is possible to achieve this weight lose goal While at other times it makes me want to grab a big old bag of potato chips & eat the whole thing!

Security Stuff

A few months ago my parents were experiencing some strange things going on at their house. Some things were disappearing. One them being a gasoline siphon. And they also noticed when they would get into their vehicles that the gasoline was lower then it had been the last time they drove it somewhere. It would have been interesting to see exactly what was going on if they had had a security camera set up to capture the culprit.

Falling In Love

The first time I met D, he was this tall mysterious guy dressed in urban clothing. I had never met someone quite like him. I was a young woman from Alabama on an adventure. He was a young man that was native Californian. Our worlds collided with one hand shake & an introduction. Five months later we were Mister & Misses. Moral of the story, you never know how much a meeting a new person will affect your life. :)

Spring Forward?

Today we had to set our clocks forward. It sure doesn't seem like Spring. The weather this year has definitely been one for the history books. Record breaking Winter weather. Extreme cold temps for very long periods of time. Forecasts for snow several times, which is very rare here in Alabama. And then flooding! It's been insane that is for sure..

That's life

There are so many things in life that as kids we are never aware of. Things adults have to deal with & go through, that is shielded from kids. If kids knew they would wish their sweet little lives away. One thing that people never want to have to think about is life insurance. Goodness, knows I don't. But being an adult I have too whether I want to or not. Oh to be a kid again...To be able to just play, eat, laugh, sleep & dream.....

Replacing the Potty

I was making a list the other day of all the things we need to do around the house. Ans it is quite a long list, let me tell ya. One thing that made the list was replacing the toilets, especially the one in the master bathroom. It is still a harvest gold version, with a white lid. Haha! Maybe we could replace them with a Toto toilets! I think that name is cute.

Moving Trip

It's been a long time since I have needed to use some roadside assistance, thank goodness. When we moved from California back to Alabama the last time, we had to use roadside assistance 4 times! We kept having our tires blowout. It was a scary trip. And we were so relieved once we finally made it to Sweet Home Alabama all safe & sound.
