"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHTYN"

Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen? Ashtyn, my sister Renee's grand-baby, turns 2 this week-end and here she is with her package that she found in her mail-box that was sent to her from her Aunt Donna in North Carolina. She is such a Girlie-Girl!! She is already into Barbie's. This is second one so far. Crystal bought her, her first Barbie last year. I'm sure this is just the beginning of many to come. " HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHTYN"!!!

SO TOTALLY ME!!!

Crystal has been wanting to re-do my blog for awhile and she finally got around to it. I didn't pressure her because I know it takes alot of time and work to do this. She has spent countless hours re-doing alot of blogs . She has alot more patience than I do. I have to say that this time she outdid herself. My blog looks AMAZING!! I don't think I'll ever change it again. This is so totally ME!! THANKS-A-MILLION Crystal! It looks AWESOME!!!

MONDAY - LAUNDRY ROOM!!

I do not understand, but for some reason Blogger will not up load the picture of my laundry room. I have tried about 12 times over the course of the last 24 hours and it will not download. I have posted other pictures but that one will not do. It's just a small entry way thru the backdoor where I keep my galvenized tub and scrub board, mop and mop bucket!!!

MY FRONT YARD AND PORCH!!

This is my front yard and porch where I love to sit in my swing and read.
When you're looking at the picture of the front of the porch swing you are looking towards Vrystal's house. You can see her front deck there. The white iron furniture I got by bartoring for some alterations!

MASTER BEDROOM

I tried posting these in some kind of order but, BLOGGER does its own thing. I guess you can consider what Danny and I have is a Master Suite. There is the room that leads into our bedroom from the living room that also has my walk-in closet and master-bath running off of it. We keep our dresser, Danny's desk and his work-out/clothes hanging equipment in. I call it our dressing room. We love antiques and this was Danny's Mom's stereo, the mirror beside it belonged to my Great-Aunt and it is probably 75 years old. In the corner is an antique chiffarobe with our tv on top and that door leads out to a seperate porch.
The door you see there leads back into the dressing room.
As you can see, Danny has a big rocker/recliner in the bedroom as well as in the livingroom.
That rocker setting there was bought for my sister, Renee by my Mom and she rocked all four of her girls in it. It was given to Crystal and I'm housing it for her because she has little furry rug-rats that will get their tails rocked on. The thing beside the chair is an old Anvil, which belonged to Danny's grand-father and it is around 75 years old. It is sitting on a tree stump.

This is Big Bertha!! I LOVE my big bed which is two doubles side-by-side. I like a soft bed and Danny likes a harder bed so I have lots of crates on mine which makes it higher and I have the head of mine elevated as well. I have to custom make the spreads as well as the top sheets. We are planning on getting a new King as soon as Danny makes my new King-size Iron bed.
This is looking into the bedroom from the dressing room. That is Danny's closet which needs doors on it.
This is my walk-in closet.

Another view of our dressing room. That is my Grafield clock which my sister, Renee, bought for me for Christmas one year. That is my favorite thing in my room. That is Danny's desk, which use to belong to his Dad. It is very old.

Sunday Bedrooms!!

This is my Guest Bedroom! It is full of hidden treasures!! The bed headboard and frame use to be Danny's when he lived at his Mom's, the mattress and boxspring: I bartered some alterations for, the bakers rack I bought at a auction at Kingwood, the little table was a roadside find, area rug was given to me before it was sent to a thrift store, the shears I made from a 10 yard bolt of fabric I bought at Wal-Mart for $10, the door behind the head of bed was a door that came out of Kingwood's old church building, I bought the cabbage patch doll (on bed) at the thrift store and I made her outfit out of scraps of fabric, the big throw pillows/table runner & little quilt piece on the little bench were two antique guilts that I was able to rescue from a friend and that was what was salvagable. My favorite thing in here is the quilt on the bed. It was a Christmas present from Crystal several years ago.

I will post my Master Bedroom tomorrow. I forgot to take pictures of it and my little man is already in bed!!

MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

Our work-out room. I find myself walking thru it more than walking to it. I do love using the equipment, but it takes dicipline plus I have had 4 surgeries in the past 13 months and I have spent alot of time re-couping. As soon as the doctor turns me loose to exercise, I gonna get SERIOUS!! Hush Crystal!! Right now it is a catch all.

ALRIGHT!! You caught me Don-Do!!!

Ok! You caught me!! Can't blame a girl for dreamin' can ya!! he-he
So that wasn't my Master-Bath, but here is the real one and she is a work in progress and has been for the past 6-7 years I think and will probably be for who knows how long!! My sister, Diane and I painted and hung the wall paper several years ago and I want to have the shower enclosure re-done and some louvered doors hung on the linen closet.

Friday - Bathrooms!

This is my Master Bath! GORGEOUS huh!!!
This is my Guest Bath! Cute!!! I made the shower curatin!! The blue thing on the wall holding the towles is a wooden insert that my Dad took out of an old house that was inset into the wall to where people would set their telephone.

UPDATE ON MY SURGERY!

Just want to thank everyone for all your thoughts and prayers last week as I went thru my hysterectomy and bladder tack. I was told that the hysterectomy was a tuffy. I don't remember a thing. Slept thru it all!! This was my 4th surgery in 13 months and I refuse to go under anesthesia for aleast another year or so and then it will be to have a tummy-tuck, leg-lift and boob job!!
I went in to the hospital Thursday morning at 9am, had surgery at 11am. Had only ice chips the rest of Thursday. Clear liquids all day Friday. Saturday morning they brought me a scrambled egg, small biscuit, 1/2 cup grits and two small slices of bacon. I ate that and drank a cup of juice. Danny came and they released me at 11am. As soon as I got home I went to weigh on my scales and I weighed 14.8 lbs. more than I did the morning of my surgery. HELLO!!!! I'm glad I didn't have to stay another day. I have lost it all back but 2 lbs. of it. MAN ALIVE!!! I couldn't believe it.
They told me not to lift anything heavier than a fork for 2 months. He-He!! I'm gonna milk that as long as I can. Well, sorta. I feel awesome right now. I want to clean this house, paint, sweep the front porch etc. etc. etc.................

Yesterday, Wednesday, I asked Danny to take me to run a couple errands since they told me I can't drive for several weeks, so after he got home and got cleaned up we headed out. First stop was to get my meds filled, second stop was to get Auzzie and Harriett some treats, then we decided to go to IHOP, since we had a buy one get one free coupon, and we also like it there. We went in and were seated and the little waitress came right over to take our order. We noticed there were several families there and a few couples came in right behind us. In all there was probably 8 tables to be waited on. As we were waiting on our food Danny said that he felt uncertain about the place tonight. We then noticed that three different people sent orders back after they finally got them. We waited a little longer and I asked our waitress what was going on and she said that they had a situation in the back. She then brings out my salad and I'm not kidding, it was rotten lettuce. Brown and slimmy! She set that down in front of me and the lady at the table ahead of us turned and looked at me and the salad. We both noticed it right off. I looked at her and said, "I'm not eating that!" She said, "I told you we had a situation in the back." The lady at the other table looked at me and said that she noticed that salad as it passed her and couldn't believe that she actually brought it to my table. That other couple and Danny and I got up and walked out. I don't know what was going on in there that night because we have eat there several times and have always got good food and service. That other couple said that they eat there all the time but they noticed that the usual people that normally run it weren't there.
We went to Johnny Ray's and got us a Bar-B-Que and some of those great big onion rings they call bracelets and it was GOOD!!!
From there we headed across to Wal-Mart for me to get a few things we needed and then we headed home. I really over did it. I was in the vertical position too long. Had to come home and hit the Horizontal again! (Did I get that right, Deb?) hahaha

Danny leaves in the morning to go to South Carolina with several other people to help Keith and Lindy load up and caravan back home to Alabama!! YEAH!! Can't wait to see my Mercy!! He'll be back sometime late Saturday night if everything goes according to plan. Say a prayer for them that they will have a SAFE journey!
Well that's enough for now. LOVE you all!!

THURSDAY - KITCHEN/DINING ROOM

Here's my great big beautiful table and chairs. It has another leaf that will go in it to extend to 90+ inches. I LOVE it!!
Here's my kitchen going from left to right. It is done in sage green and cherries. I love old things as you will see.

Mel's Challenge! Wednesday/Living-Room

Okie Dokie everybody! Here she is: my living room and is she ever lived in! YES YES YES!!
This is my NEST!! The big chair on the right is mine, the one with the blue neck pillow on the arm. So of course the other big chair is Danny's. We always sit in our own chair. Mine is more comfortable than his. He-He!! Notice the bottles of pain medication on the table by my big green mug. GOOD stuff!!
That doorway leads into our Master-suite.
Here we have two loads of laundry that has been thrown onto the couch but not yet folded. It will be before I go to bed though. There is also groceries on the table that has not yet been put away from our trip to Wal-Mart tonight.

The Curio was given to me for Christmas from Danny several years ago and the sewing machine was a Christmas gift from Danny as well, 2 or 3 years ago. The red and white bowl & pitcher that is sitting on the sewing machine was a graduation gift to me from my Aunt Bernice in 1970. My bedroom at that time was red and white. These are my most favorite things in my livingroom besides the three cherry platters on my mantle above my television.

When I got home from the hospital there was a couple packages waiting for me in my chair from Shionge in Singapore. She sent me this beautiful little teapot and cups. They are so sweet and delicate. She also included a bag of Jasmine tea. I have to say, it made my day!! Thank-you Shionge! THE REST OF MY PINK/PURPLE MONDAY PICTURES!

These are the only two plates left from my Grandmother's (my Dad's Mom) china!
This is what is left of the corsage that my Mom wore when she and my Dad got married on March 26, 1947 by a Justice of the Peace in Georgia. My Mom was 15 years old and my Dad was 19.
This is my very used pin cushion which was also given to me by Crystal for Christmas one year many years ago.
My little pink make-up case. I just invested in some new make-up that I love: Bare Minerals. I have very sensitive skin and this stuff is amazing.
Last but not least: Me in my Barney suit standing on Palise Verdes Beach right after Crystal's and Daniel's wedding.
