BARGAINS!!!

I have been needing a jacket to wear on cool days instead of my huge winter coat that is as big a a blanket. I have sweaters and hooded sweatshirt jackets but I needed a nice jacket to wear to church over my nice clothes or even over my jeans. So I've been hitting the clearance racks because if it ain't on clearance or on major mark-down I don't buy it. I haven't been able to find what I want on any racks yet so I decided to look at ebay. BINGO!!! I hit the jackpot. I just won a great 3 -guarter length all weather jacket in black with animal print lining on ebay for...................99 cents!! YES I DID :) !!!!!! Well that doesn't include S&H but........that is still a steal! I am so excited.

EXCUSES, EXCUSES!!!!

I am several excuses for not blogging but one really good reason! I have been having problems with my computer for several months now. Seems that she had acquired a virus :( !! Poor Girl!!
I could go on-line and in a few minutes a little window would pop up telling me that Internet Explorer had detected a problem and needed to shut down. In a few minutes she would just shut down; right in the middle of WHATEVER I was doing! I couldn't hardly comment on another blog, let alone blog for myself. I couldn't even bid on ebay :( !!!
I called Dell Tech Support (they have helped me in the past fixing things ) and after about a hour on the phone they tell me that my contract is out and I need to pay them about $200 to fix the problem. GGGRRRRRRR!!! NO WAY!! So I've been 5 minute-ing it on here several times a day. I'm almost and notice I say ALMOST as bad as Crystal with my PC. I even asked Santa for a new laptop but he thought I needed a new bed instead. Go Figure! I think Santa had some alterior(?) motives behind that decision :) !!
Last night I was watching 33-40 News and their tech men were on there talking about the internet and said that FIREFOX was a better and alot safer for your PC that Internet Explorer. That it was free to download on-line. DING-DONG!!! I immediately went to my PC, searched, found and immediately downloaded Firefox to my PC and now...............SHE RUNS LIKE A NEW ONE!!! When the commercial says "FAST like a Fox!" They mean it! I was on here till 3am this morning. Couldn't wait to get up this morning to return back to her. I am HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!!! Now I am motivated to clean up and organize my Computer/sewing/Auzzie room, but.....................................I have got to go take a shower and go meet someone about some alterations and pick up Doodle-Bop (aka. Mercy). She is spending the night with me and Pappa! She makes me laugh :) !!!

I'll be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Month in review!

Here are a few pictures to go with my review:

Since Christmas life has been slow around my house. I'm enjoying the cold weather. I got all my Christmas decorations down and semi put away. I packed my ornaments away, individually wrapped and in their own tub but everything else is just piled up waiting to be carefully packed away in a new tub I bought a couple weeks ago. Just can't seem to bring myself to stop walking past it and to it to get it done. Before I can actually store it away in the closet I need to clean out the closet and organize and get rid of things but...............I'm not in the organizing mood! That mood has either gone to sleep or on a long extended vacation. She'll be back someday and when she does she will do some damage around here.

A week ago Sunday I had one of my episodes to where I feel like I am going to pass out, my heart is racing, I'm sweating profusely and my body is not responding to my mind. SCARY!!

I finally, not sure how, compose myself enough to get down some orange juice, potassium tablets and some peanut butter and within 15 minutes I felt like a new person. I can usually tell when these episodes are going to happen and I am able to head them off with the OJ, potassium and some protein but this time there was no warning. It scared me pretty bad and so I decided with some persuading from Crystal and Danny to go to the ER to have it checked out. This was around 5 pm Sunday evening when Danny and I left the house. They did blood work to check my sugar and my potassium and said those looked good. I told them of my families history of silent heart-attacks and so my doctor decided to keep me over night for a 23 hour heart monitor and a brain scan to make sure I didn't have any bugs in there!! Everything checked out great. SO...................................................... the problem? Seems to be that being a post gastric by-pass patient I am experiencing what they call DUMPING!! Where my sugar will just bottom out. I have to catch it as soon as I feel it coming on so I don't pass out and possibly go into what is called a diabetic coma. Even though I'm not a diabetic it could happen. I was instructed to eat evey 2-3 hours to keep my sugar up. Man, I feel like I am eating all the time. So if you happen to see me eating in Church, while walking thru Wal-Mart, in the doctors office , where-ever...........that is why. It will more than likely be me with my trusty jar of peanut butter and a spoon. And....NO .....................I won't share. S O R R Y !!!!!!!

Last week it snowed a little and we were prepared food wise. We went and bought our bread, milk, canned soups and goodies. Danny and I were settled in for whatever was to come. I even made sure we had plenty of kerosene for our heaters incase the power went out. I think we got maybe a inch of snow. I was a little disappointed, but at the same time excited that we didn't lose power. That is so depressing to me. I can handle it for a while but not very long. God knew exactly what he was doing when he put me in the 20th-21st century. I would not have made a good cave woman or pioneer woman. I LOVE my electricity.

A Good Nights Sleep

D & I invested in a new king size pillow top bed a few years ago & let me just say it was the best thing we ever did. To this day, we still say, when we lay down at night just how much we love our bed. When people come over they always want to lay down to see if it really is as comfy as we say. But if we ever have to invest in another bed for us, I know we will definitely go with a foam mattress with down padding. Those beds are just dreamy. Like sleeping on a cloud.

Travel Time

I adore traveling, but I just don't get to do it enough...Well....I don't do it all these days. But in my day dreams I have great adventures all over the world. One thing I love about traveling is the packing my bags & then the hotels! Oh the hotels! I have always wanted to stay in some hotels Las Vegas style. You, know? A high Rollers room. Wouldn't that be the life? I think the best hotel I ever stayed in was on my honeymoon. D & I still talk about that room. hehe

Agents

One of my favorite shows on HGTV, is House Hunters. It's so fun to see, where the people live & why they are looking for a new home. Then to see their 3 choices. I always pick my favorite, then I try to guess the house they are going to choose. There was one real estate agent on there once that acted like a little robot & spoke in monotone voice! They make me laugh sometimes, with the very poor acting, but I don't watch it for them. The House Hunters, that I love the most, are the international ones. I guess it's the longing for travel, in me. But it just fascinates me how other people live. Especially in other countries.

Get Moving

I need to exercise, who doesn't? But I seriously lack some major motivation. I'm not someone who enjoys exercising. I love the results, but the actual doing it...No. There is one piece of exercise equipment that I would love to won, because I believe I would really use it & that's an elliptical. I have been looking at ellipticals & have even tried one before. I love them.

Gloves

I am such a germ-a-phobe that disposable gloves are a definite in my world. I wear them even when I clean my own house. I wash my hands way too much & protecting my hands from germs without the dry effects of hand washing is always a good thing. I am a bit fascinated with disposable gloves that I tend to notice them, like the purple ones. Or the black that they use on LA & Miami Ink. Those are pretty cool.

Ready For A Re-Do

Have you ever seen the directbuy commercials on TV? The ones where people talk about how much money they saved building their home or furnishing it?
Here's some info about DirectBuy- it's the leading members-only showroom and home design center that offers merchandise at manufacturer-direct prices. DirectBuy charges membership dues to join, thereby enabling members to purchase merchandise at manufacturer prices without traditional retail mark-up. It allows consumers to purchase brand-name merchandise at manufacturer-direct prices -- the same prices that manufacturers and distributors give to retail stores......Did you know that in the home furnishings area alone, stores enjoy a gross margin of 43.3% on average? So, if you are in the market to redo your home, DirectBuy is something to really look into.

Wine

I don't really drink, but a glass of wine with a meal isn't such a bad thing. I have heard of wine of the month clubs before. I think it might be a fun thing to do, just to try out the different flavors & aromas. When I lived in California, I thought it would have been a nice trip to go tour Napa Valley & get to stomp some grapes like Lucy did. But since I don't see that happening any time soon, so a good glass of wine, will have to do.

Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend

I have always admired jewelry, but I have never really thought much about it for me. I guess because I have always lived within a budget & the idea of having something so expensive, to adorn my body, just didn't make much sense to me. You can tell that by the fact that our wedding bands are sterling silver.
But lately & I found myself really wanting some real jewelry. I would love to get D & I new wedding bands. I actually told him I wanted to do that maybe for our anniversary. But I have also been looking at diamond pendants & I have found some that I really like. I would rather get new wedding bands first, then on to other stuff.

Insured?

When I was probably 10 or 11, I was in a wreck with my Mom & cousin. It was pretty traumatic for me, because I ended up in a neck brace, on a stretcher & in an ambulance.
I remember the actual impact & even what the other car looked liked. We had to walk a red mud dirt road to call the police & I can still hear Mom saying that she bet the guy that hit us, probably wasn't insured. Well, sure enough he had no car insurance. And from that day on, I realized the importance of being insured.

Help, When In Need

Does anyone watch the show Invention?
I do, whenever I remember it's on. It used to come on Sunday nights & now it comes on Friday nights. I find myself in tears lot of the times, when I watch. I always love to see how they have changed their lives after drug treatment centers.
Every episode is different & the addiction isn't always the same, but seeing families & friends come together to try to save a loved one is incredible to witness.
If you haven't ever watched this show give it a try.

Need A Cleaning?

I have heard great things about getting a colon cleanse. From just feeling better physically, to loosing weight. I have a friend that owns her own colon cleansing spa. I also have other friends that have gone to get them done before. It's something that I have thought about having done. Have you had a colon cleanse? Is it something you would do again? If you haven't had it done, would you?
