I always look them in the eye. Unless I am super nervous, like when I was a kid and I did something wrong, I would avoid eye contact like mad! It drives me crazy when people don't make eye contact!
Sometimes. Most of the time I watch their lips. I've almost always done this. I can't seem to get it thru my brain if I don't. If I look someone in the eye, I usually have to make them repeat it, so I can look at their lips.
I make eye contact, when the other person is talking, but when I talk I tend to look away at times. I get a bit self conscious. I'm not sure why. But like Gretchen I am a mouth watcher. I'm fascinated by lips & the way people move their mouths.
I do unless I am trying to get them to go away and then I will look down and at what I have been working on. I don't mean this to be ugly but it is very hard to get things done when people pop in and out of your office all day without notice and want to chit chat while you need to get work done. When not at work I look people in the eye. I think if someone cannot look you in the eye to talk then they are feeling guilty of something (whather it was aimed at you or you hit on the subject.)dd
When I was younger, I would never look people in the eye. I was so insecure and had no self confidence. I was also very shy, believe it or not. Now I am very confident and secure in myself so now I always look people in the eye.
I am also like Diane, that when I don't want to talk to someone or if I want to conversation to stop I will turn my attention else-where.
I usually look people in the eye but I have a bad habit of looking at their teeth. When I realize I'm doing that I tell myself..Look at the eyes not the mouth...J.S.

Yes, I do. It reveals to them that you are interested in what they are saying and I think it reveals confidence, as well.
