10 things that make me smile
2. Hearing my little grand-dogs makin' a ruckis when I walk out the door and they are on their front deck watching for me.
3. When I see Danny drive up everyday from work. I still get butterflies after 20 years.
4. Auzzie chipping when he hears me from the other room.
5. When I walk into my sewing/computer room (that's where Auzzie and Harriet's cages are also) and Auzzie says, "Hey Vickie! What you doin'?"
6. When I have the money to buy special things for other people.
7. Seeing the numbers on my scales get smaller and smaller and my clothes getting bigger and bigger.
8. Seeing comments on my post. That's when I know that people thought enough of me to take the time to read it. THANKS!!!
9. Setting in my front porch swing, watching and listening to all the little creatures.
10. Going to the Nifty Over Fifty functions!!

Panama City!!
We spent Tuesday on the beach and it was so nice. There was a lot of sea-weed in the water and on the beach but it didn't stop us from having a good time.
We buried Tres in the sand and watched Bryant spend most of his time in his little red wagon. He was not very fond of the sand or the water. Betty and I did a little reading while sitting there trying to dodge the sun under the umbrella. I am not a sun worshipper. All my life I have been one of those that burns immediately then am miserable the rest of the time on vacation. Betty sprayed me down with some high # sunblocker, (50 I think) and my right knee and right elbow still got burnt.
I love to sit on the beach at night.
We ate in some really great restaurants. My favorite was at the Back Porch in Destin. I had a oyster dish off the appetizer menu that was totally ORGASMIC!!!!!!!!!! Best oysters I have ever eat in my life. If you ever go, just ask for the 'Orgasmic Oysters' (I can't remember what they called them). YUMMO!! Hey Betty and Jamie! Let's go get some oysters!!!
If any of you out there are in the shopping mood and are looking for bargains, well then you need to take Jamie with you. She draws bargains like a magnet. I have never seen anything like it. Jamie, you can go shopping with me anytime Girlfriend!! She just walks up to a counter or rack and picks up an amazing clearance item and your still looking for the Clearance or Sale sign.
I did pick up on her skills a little though. I found me 3 pairs of jeans and two nice cotton blouses for $5.00 per item. Can't beat that.
We even found time to play a few games and watch a few movies. I also ate my first Dippin' Dots!! The sugar-free chocolate taste just like a chocolate fudgesicle. Very good.
Thanks Betty, Jamie, Tres and Bryant for such an awesome time.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MAMA!!!
This is my MOM. She passed away on March 6, 1992. I miss her so bad. On Mother's Day it is traditional for women to wear corsages to church and according to tradition you have to wear a certain color. I always forgot what color I was suppose to wear, if it was suppose to be red or white. Every year I would have to call Mama to ask her. Finally one year she told me: "Vickie, if your Mother is alive you wear red and if your Mother is dead you wear white, but, you wear PINK because I am only half dead!" So here's to you Mama, "Happy Pink Mother's Day" because you are only half dead, dead to the flesh because you still live in my heart!!
Pictures of me!!
This was made when we lived in Beeville, Texas for about 3 months in '56!
This is me, Bruce Wayne (my little brother) and Kenneth (my double first cousin). That means his Dad is my Mom's brother and his Mom is my Dad's sister.
This was Christmas '53. I was 2 yrs and 3 months old, all decked out in my cowgirl outfit. That was so 50's!!
This was made on the bridge on Elmwood cemetery. I think this is one of my favorite pics of me. This was '54.

My Mom had an amazing green thumb. She could plant a popsicle stick and get it to bloom (well, almost)! After my Mom passed away I went thru her garden and took clippings of some of the plants that she had and planted them around my house. Such as hostas, hydrangeas, forsynthias (yellow bells) and some that I don't know what they are.
I have one behind my house that right now is absolutely GORGEOUS and I don't know what it is called. I think it must be related to Crepe Myrtle, which I absolutely adore. I am posting some pictures to see if any of you guys can tell me what it is. It blooms once a year, which is right now and when the blooms shed it looks like it has snowed underneath it. The trunk of it sheds pretty much all summer. Take a look and see if you can identify it for me.

Just Ramblin'
Weight loss is slow but steady. I am down 99.1 as of this morning. Last week-end, we got out and worked really hard in our yards. I started at 11:00am raking and Crystal joined me at 12:00. I raked for 6 hours and I used muscles that I haven't used in years. I hadn't been able to work in the yard like that in years. I loved it until I weighed the next morning and I was "UP" 2 lbs. . What's up with that!! It took me a week to lose those 2 lbs. plus 1. I think from now on I'm just going to be the forman and sit in my swing and watch everybody else work. (just kidding )
I know, or I hope, I was building muscles!!
This evening before Church, Danny and I left the house a little early and went by Home Depot and he bought me a new pair of garden gloves, a new garden rake, little hand shovel and little hand claw, some mosquito candles, mosquito spray and some weed killer for my patio. I don't kill dandelions, I love those. I love to blow them and watch the little parachute men fly across the yard to make more dandelions . We were also in search of a couple folding chairs that we need to take to my brother-in-laws 50th birthday party so we'll have a place to sit. We can also use them going to some of those Nifty Over Fifty get-togethers. There were none to be found at Home Depot.
Danny said that Drug Stores always seem to advertise having them all the time so we stopped at Walgreens to see if they did but NOPE. I did get me 6 sugar-free chocolate Easter bunnies for 90% off. YIPEE!!! I stuck 5 in the freezer. Danny also got him some new well needed sun glasses. We then drove on down to Big Lots and we asked the manager if they had any folding chairs. Well, he led us right to them and they had 3 so we bought 2 of them and they are really nice and only $16.99 each. GO BIG LOTS!!!
By the time we got to Church I was all hot and sweatie! Church was awesome!! Music is AMAZING!!! Can't wait for the 4th of July fireworks at Kingwood. They are always the BEST!!
After church we made a trip to Wal-Mart in Alabaster for a few more items. By the time we leave there Danny is totally frazzled. He's not a shopper plus he was having nose problems. I picked him up some sinus medicine and when we got home I told him to take it by mouth or else. He minded me and took it! He's a good boy!!
I recon that was enough to bore you guys with for awhile. Until next time.
