This is where it all began. Mama is barely 16 yrs. old and Daddy was 20. Mama is pregnant with their first baby. It was a boy that she carried full term but was Still-Born. Mama told me that she believed that when the baby was being born that the doctors broke his neck. The reason she believed this was because she said that she felt her baby move up until delivery. She was never allowed to see the baby. The only people tat I was told saw it was , Daddy and Mamaw Shack, Mama' mother. He was perfectly normal, beautiful fat baby boy in every way. The only abnormality was that he had a tiny little extra thumb that came off to the side of his regular thumb.
