MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

Our work-out room. I find myself walking thru it more than walking to it. I do love using the equipment, but it takes dicipline plus I have had 4 surgeries in the past 13 months and I have spent alot of time re-couping. As soon as the doctor turns me loose to exercise, I gonna get SERIOUS!! Hush Crystal!! Right now it is a catch all.

UPDATE ON MY SURGERY!

Just want to thank everyone for all your thoughts and prayers last week as I went thru my hysterectomy and bladder tack. I was told that the hysterectomy was a tuffy. I don't remember a thing. Slept thru it all!! This was my 4th surgery in 13 months and I refuse to go under anesthesia for aleast another year or so and then it will be to have a tummy-tuck, leg-lift and boob job!!
I went in to the hospital Thursday morning at 9am, had surgery at 11am. Had only ice chips the rest of Thursday. Clear liquids all day Friday. Saturday morning they brought me a scrambled egg, small biscuit, 1/2 cup grits and two small slices of bacon. I ate that and drank a cup of juice. Danny came and they released me at 11am. As soon as I got home I went to weigh on my scales and I weighed 14.8 lbs. more than I did the morning of my surgery. HELLO!!!! I'm glad I didn't have to stay another day. I have lost it all back but 2 lbs. of it. MAN ALIVE!!! I couldn't believe it.
They told me not to lift anything heavier than a fork for 2 months. He-He!! I'm gonna milk that as long as I can. Well, sorta. I feel awesome right now. I want to clean this house, paint, sweep the front porch etc. etc. etc.................

Yesterday, Wednesday, I asked Danny to take me to run a couple errands since they told me I can't drive for several weeks, so after he got home and got cleaned up we headed out. First stop was to get my meds filled, second stop was to get Auzzie and Harriett some treats, then we decided to go to IHOP, since we had a buy one get one free coupon, and we also like it there. We went in and were seated and the little waitress came right over to take our order. We noticed there were several families there and a few couples came in right behind us. In all there was probably 8 tables to be waited on. As we were waiting on our food Danny said that he felt uncertain about the place tonight. We then noticed that three different people sent orders back after they finally got them. We waited a little longer and I asked our waitress what was going on and she said that they had a situation in the back. She then brings out my salad and I'm not kidding, it was rotten lettuce. Brown and slimmy! She set that down in front of me and the lady at the table ahead of us turned and looked at me and the salad. We both noticed it right off. I looked at her and said, "I'm not eating that!" She said, "I told you we had a situation in the back." The lady at the other table looked at me and said that she noticed that salad as it passed her and couldn't believe that she actually brought it to my table. That other couple and Danny and I got up and walked out. I don't know what was going on in there that night because we have eat there several times and have always got good food and service. That other couple said that they eat there all the time but they noticed that the usual people that normally run it weren't there.
We went to Johnny Ray's and got us a Bar-B-Que and some of those great big onion rings they call bracelets and it was GOOD!!!
From there we headed across to Wal-Mart for me to get a few things we needed and then we headed home. I really over did it. I was in the vertical position too long. Had to come home and hit the Horizontal again! (Did I get that right, Deb?) hahaha

Danny leaves in the morning to go to South Carolina with several other people to help Keith and Lindy load up and caravan back home to Alabama!! YEAH!! Can't wait to see my Mercy!! He'll be back sometime late Saturday night if everything goes according to plan. Say a prayer for them that they will have a SAFE journey!
Well that's enough for now. LOVE you all!!

THURSDAY - KITCHEN/DINING ROOM

Here's my great big beautiful table and chairs. It has another leaf that will go in it to extend to 90+ inches. I LOVE it!!
Here's my kitchen going from left to right. It is done in sage green and cherries. I love old things as you will see.

Mel's Challenge! Wednesday/Living-Room

Okie Dokie everybody! Here she is: my living room and is she ever lived in! YES YES YES!!
This is my NEST!! The big chair on the right is mine, the one with the blue neck pillow on the arm. So of course the other big chair is Danny's. We always sit in our own chair. Mine is more comfortable than his. He-He!! Notice the bottles of pain medication on the table by my big green mug. GOOD stuff!!
That doorway leads into our Master-suite.
Here we have two loads of laundry that has been thrown onto the couch but not yet folded. It will be before I go to bed though. There is also groceries on the table that has not yet been put away from our trip to Wal-Mart tonight.

The Curio was given to me for Christmas from Danny several years ago and the sewing machine was a Christmas gift from Danny as well, 2 or 3 years ago. The red and white bowl & pitcher that is sitting on the sewing machine was a graduation gift to me from my Aunt Bernice in 1970. My bedroom at that time was red and white. These are my most favorite things in my livingroom besides the three cherry platters on my mantle above my television.

I have all my life wanted a pen-pal from another country and now thru the means of cyber-space and BLOG, I have had the priviledge of being able to be introduced to you thru Crystal's blog! Black & White Sunday!!

For Black and White Sunday I chose my Cherry Platter collection with the candles in front of them, another set of wrought iron candle holders with white pillar candle and this GORGEOUS black and white duster that I am trying to sale on ebay that is actually white with black pansies but Crystal insists that it is a cow. I think she really wants me to give it to her.

WAL-MART, SCREAMING UNDISCIPLINED KIDS AND IGNORANT, SELF-CENTERED PEOPLE WITH THEIR CELL PHONES!!!!

Can you tell I'm on a RANTING horse or what!! Man, you hear about road-rage, what about WAL-MART rage!!! I have got to where I HATE that store.
When Target opens up in Alabaster, I may never set foot in WAl-MART again.

Danny and I decided to go and stock up on groceries and replenish all the other unedible things we were out of today. We get into Wal-Mart and we head towards pharmaceuticals and I start getting the things I need. I needed about 5 different vitamins that I have run out of. Then I went over to get some of those little cotton rounds to take nail polish off with and I start noticing how empty the shelves are. Either all these Shelby County folk have all of a sudden come into alot of money or they just aren't stocking the shelves back like they need to be. I begin to notice that all over the store. You can rarely find an employee to help you find anything and there are usually only a half dozen check-outs open and they are lined up.
Wal-Mart needs to wake up and see that if they would treat their employees right and hire enough to keep the store straight and stocked they would make more money. I think I'll just buy them out!! What do ya'll think?
Then I proceed over to the women's wear to check the clearance racks and I am running into people all over the store because they don't look where they are going, they are inconsiderate of other people and are just plain STUPID!!!!! HELLO people!! Wake up. The world does not revolve around just you, OK!!!!!
There was a woman standing in the middle of the women's department, leaning on her buggy, blocking FOUR aisles on her cell phone. Like she was the only one in the whole freakin' store. I had tried going around her but all the aisles were blocked. I decide to stand there to see if she would get the message, BUT---- NOPE! Not Ms. Dummy! I heard her tell who ever she was having this long winded conversation with, "Well, I haven't found anything yet!" I said, "Well, if you would get off the ___ phone and you can find it!" She moved and I walked off and I don't know what kind of look I got from her and she really wouldn't have wanted me to see it because there would have been a Fat Kat fight right in the middle of Wal-Mart and I would not have lost!!!
I think some people go around their neighborhood and pick up every screaming, crying, undisciplined kid they can find before they get there and I want to SLAP them. They kids are running up and down the aisles, screaming because they can't have everything they see and their parents just tune them out. LEAVE the little BRATS at home. If you can't train your kids to behave in public then leave them at home. I decided then and there that we would get all of our non-parishables there and take off to Publix. Wal-Marts produce looks aweful. Fruit flies on everything. Everything was picked over and looks like it is half rotten before they put it on the shelves. I'm not gonna pay the prices you have to in order to get fresh fruit and veggies and them be half rotten before you get them home. The meat looks like it is covered in some red slime in their blowed up packaging. I hope you all know that the meat is shipped to Wal-Mart pre-packaged and all they do is put it on the shelves. The reason the packages is puffed up is because it is gassed to keep it red looking. NASTY!!! I hope you all enjoyed my rant. I did stop and take a half a xanax while Danny was checking out at Wal-Mart so my trip to Publix was alot better. Not only because of the xanax but it is a pleasure to shop somewhere it is clean and organized and you aren't constantly bumping butts with somebody else. Thank you for letting me rant !! Now I feel so much better.
